Firefighters Saturday stopped the spread of a kitchen fire that threatened a house in the Arleta area of Los Angeles.
The fire was reported at 3:31 p.m. Saturday at 9575 N. Canterbury Ave., according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Lyndsey Lantz. Firefighters had the fire out in under 20 minutes.
Light smoke was showing when firefighters arrived and reported the kitchen fire had spread into the attic, Lantz said.
A 21-year-old man suffered minor burns but refused to be taken by ambulance to a hospital, she said.
Firefighters remained at the house for a time to make sure all traces of fire were out.
