Los Angeles County Sheriff’s homicide detectives Saturday are investigating the death of a man in Compton.
Deputies from the Compton Station were called at 11:08 p.m. Friday to the 100 block of North Poinsettia Avenue, near East Compton Boulevard, where they found the victim, said homicide Lt. Michael Modica.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene, but no information was released on how he was killed.

The homicide was the second of two in Compton Friday. A 12-year-old boy was shot and killed in Fig/Oleander Park at 3:55 p.m., according to the sheriff’s department. No information was available on a possible motive and no arrests have been made.
