One person was killed and two other people were critically injured Sunday when an SUV crashed into a bus, the center divider and caught fire on the Pomona (60) Freeway in Hacienda Heights, authorities said.
The crash on the westbound freeway, at the Hacienda Boulevard off-ramp, occurred at 4:30 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
The CHP reported at 4:33 a.m. that a man was lying near the right shoulder of the westbound freeway.
Firefighters and paramedics were dispatched at 5:07 a.m. and reported that an SUV was fully engulfed after crashing into a bus. The fire did not spread to the bus, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
One person was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the department.
There was no other information was available.
