Seven people were arrested during a DUI checkpoint in Riverside, the Riverside Police Department announced.

The checkpoint was held at University Avenue, east of Ottowa Avenue between 8 p.m. Friday and 2 a.m. Saturday.

A total of 764 vehicles were screened, according to the Riverside PD. Four people were arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, one person was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs, one other was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs, and a seventh person was arrested for a felony warrant, according to the police department.

Funding for this checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
