A man underwent surgery Monday morning after he was shot in the Vermont Square area of Los Angeles.
The shooting was reported at about midnight at 57th and Hoover streets, according to a desk officer at the Los Angeles Police Department’s Operations Center.
Arriving officers found evidence of a shooting but no victim. He turned up at a hospital, she said.
The victim underwent surgery and had stable vital signs, the officer said.
Suspect information was not immediately available.
