A 57-year-old Temecula teacher was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of inappropriate contact with a student.
Deputies originally responded around 5:30 p.m. May 7 to a report of a teacher allegedly having inappropriate contact with a student at Vail Elementary School in the 29000 block of Mira Loma Drive, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
The suspect, George Vega, of Temecula, was placed on administrative leave by the school while the investigation continued.
On Tuesday, Vega was arrested and booked into the Byrd Detention Center in Murrieta on suspicion of child annoyance and lewd acts with a minor.
Vega’s bail was set at $55,000.
The investigation was ongoing, and no other details were immediately released.
