UC Irvine police Wednesday continued looking for a suspect who raped a student on campus earlier this month.
UCI police were called about 9:20 p.m. May 17 regarding a rape about 11 p.m. May 16 at Camino del Sol student housing, police said in a statement to the university community.
The student was walking near residences on campus when a suspect pushed her to the ground and attacked her, police said. The victim did not know her attacker, UCI spokesman Tom Vasich said.
The suspect is a white man with dark hair, a medium build who was wearing a dark T-shirt, a navy blue hat and was about 35 to 40 years old, police said. He drove a dark-colored Acura, police said.
Police continue to follow up leads and gather information, Vasich said.
Anyone with helpful information to investigators was encouraged to call campus police at 949-824-5223.
