A 19-year-old man who was fatally shot in Long Beach was identified by county authorities Thursday.

When they arrived at the scene, officers found the victim, Jordan Mosby, with a gunshot wound to his upper body, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

Long Beach Police Department officers were dispatched around 11 p.m. Tuesday to the 200 block of Pacific Coast Highway, near the intersection with Locust Avenue, regarding a shots-fired call.

Officers rendered aid until Long Beach Fire Department paramedics arrived and pronounced Mosby dead at the scene.

Homicide detectives are investigating the motive and circumstances leading up to the shooting. Detectives are working to identify a possible suspects, LBPD Officer Eric Stachura told City News Service.

KTLA reported three or four people were seen running from the scene after the shooting.

Investigators are working to determine what events led to the shooting and who is responsible, police said.
