A 27-year-old man who was found unresponsive in the center divider of the Long Beach (710) Freeway and later died at a hospital was identified Thursday.
The California Highway Patrol first received reports around 3:45 a.m. Tuesday of a man walking around a sedan in the center divider of the northbound freeway just south of Willow Street. Additional reports suggested the man may have been struck by a white minivan, according to the CHP.
The man, identified Thursday by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner as Jorge Ramirez, had a faint pulse when paramedics arrived, according to the CHP. He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
No additional information was immediately available.
