A two-alarm fire that broke out Friday in a Perris mobile home spread into vegetation, threatening multiple properties and consuming nearly two acres, before it was stopped.
The blaze was reported at 3:53 p.m. in the 100 block of Bond Drive, near Weston Road, on the west end of the city, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
The agency said multiple engine and hand crews were sent to the location and encountered flames raging in the double-wide trailer, extending into a field and into the yards of surrounding homes.
Firefighters quickly deployed hose lays and prevented the blaze from reaching the neighboring residences. There were no reports of injuries.
At 4:25 p.m., the fire’s forward rate of spread was stopped, according to officials at the scene.
An evacuation order that had been issued minutes earlier was immediately canceled.
Crews were expected to finish mopping up by 7 p.m. Friday.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
