Firefighters Saturday battled a small grass fire in the Sepulveda Basin area of Los Angeles, keeping it to just under three acres.
The fire was reported at one acre in size at 2:20 p.m. in the 15700 block of West Burbank Boulevard, said the Los Angeles Fire Department’s spokeswoman Margaret Stewart. The vegetation was light to medium, and no structures were threatened.
The forward progress of the fire was stopped 85 minutes later, at 3:45 p.m., and just under three acres were reported to have burned, Stewart said.
“Crews will be on scene for an extended duration as they conducted mop up operations,” she said.
