A man possibly armed with a gun Tuesday morning prompted police to cordon off the area around the Autry Museum of the American West near the Los Angeles Zoo.
Officers responded at 4:38 a.m. Tuesday to the 4700 block of Western Heritage Way, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The man was in an SUV in the museum’s parking lot, which was closed, according to a report from the scene.
The exits from the southbound Golden State (5) and Ventura (134) freeways to Zoo Drive were also closed by the California Highway Patrol at the LAPD’s request.
