A 19-year-old Huntington Beach man was scheduled to be arraigned Monday on a charge of fatally shooting a woman in Costa Mesa last week.
Oscar Saldivar, who was arrested Saturday, was charged with murder with a sentencing enhancement for discharge of a gun causing death. He is accused of killing 20-year-old Monseratt Colorado June 2.
Police responded at about 11:10 p.m. to a report of shots fired and a person wounded in the 1500 block of Lukup Lane, near the Costa Mesa Country Club, according to Public Affairs Manager Roxi Fyad of the Costa Mesa Police Department.
“Officers found a 20-year-old Huntington Beach woman on the sidewalk suffering from several apparent gunshot wounds,” Fyad said.
Officers rendered aid until Costa Mesa Fire & Rescue crews arrived and took the woman to a hospital, where she later died, according to Fyad.
The victim was known to the suspect, Fyad said.
