A motorcycle rider was killed Wednesday morning in a collision with a bus near downtown Los Angeles, police said.

The crash was reported at 5:17 a.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Washington Boulevard and Alameda Street, just south of the Santa Monica (10) Freeway, according to a Los Angeles Police Department spokesman.

The rider collided with a DASH bus and was pronounced dead at the scene, the officer said.

No information on that person’s age or gender was immediately available.

The LAPD’s South Traffic Division was investigating the fatal crash.
