An investigation continued Friday into a motorcyclist killed in a collision with a pickup at a Woodcrest intersection was identified as a 14-year-old Riverside resident.

The boy was fatally injured shortly after 6 a.m. Thursday at Gardner and Krameria avenues, according to the California Highway Patrol. He was hit by a Toyota 4Runner and ended up underneath it.

Riverside County Fire Department paramedics reached the location within minutes and pronounced him dead at the scene.

On Thursday, the Riverside coroner’s office identified the deceased as Gavin Carrillo.

It was unclear if the motorcycle was legal to be driven on county roadways, but at 14 years of age, Carrillo would not have been licensed.

No one in the Toyota was injured. The driver was questioned and released.

An investigation remains ongoing.
