A pedestrian was killed after they were struck by a vehicle while walking on the San Gabriel River (605) Freeway in Santa Fe Springs, the California Highway Patrol reported Saturday.
CHP officers responded at 8:56 p.m. Friday to the southbound freeway and the Telegraph Road off-ramp where they found a white Honda sedan near the center divider and the victim lying near the HOV lane, CHP Officer Megan Curtis told City News Service.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The pedestrian’s name, age and gender were not immediately known.
The CHP closed the HOV and Nos. 1 and 2 lanes of the freeway while they investigated the collision.
