A man and a woman were fatally shot in the Central-Alameda neighborhood of South Los Angeles and police Tuesday were investigating the circumstances surrounding the shootings.
Officers from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Newton Division responded to the intersection of Central Avenue and 50th Street at approximately 11 p.m. Monday regarding a shooting. When they arrived at the scene, the officers learned two suspects drove up to the victims and shot at them multiple times, an LAPD officer told City News Service.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics were called and pronounced the woman dead at the scene. The man was taken to a hospital in critical condition and was later pronounced dead, police said.
The suspects drove away west on 50th Street, according to police, who did not have a suspect description.
