An at-risk 88-year-old man was reported missing after being last seen Monday in South Gate, prompting the issuance of a Silver Alert.

Manuel Santillan was last seen on Monday near Bryson Avenue and Duane Way at around noon, according to the California Highway Patrol, which activated the alert on behalf of the South Gate Police Department.

Santillan was described as a 5-foot-5-inch-tall man weighing 160 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.

He was last seen wearing a gray and blue shirt, blue jeans, black shoes, and gold glasses.

Anyone with information regarding Santillan’s whereabouts was urged to call 911.

The Silver Alert program was established by the CHP to issue and coordinate alerts involving the unexplained or suspicious disappearances of elderly, developmentally disabled or cognitively impaired individuals.
