Sheriff’s deputies were investigating a homicide in Indio Thursday.
Indio police contacted Riverside County sheriff’s deputies of an incident shortly after 7 a.m. Thursday in the 84000 block of Manila Avenue, near the Coachella Valley Rescue Mission, according to the sheriff’s department. It was unclear what the incident entailed.
The sheriff’s homicide unit assumed the investigation, said sheriff’s Lt. Deirdre Vickers.
