A pedestrian was struck by a car and killed Friday morning on the transition road from the southbound San Diego (405) Freeway to the westrbound Marina (90) Freeway in Culver City.
The California HIghway Patrol was notified about 4:25 a.m. that a pedestrian had been struck by an Infiniti sedan.
The victim was pronounced dead by Culver City Fire Department personnel at 4:42 a.m., a CHP officer said. The person’s name, age and gender was not released.
The fatality shut down the transition road and a SigAlert was issued.
Traffic on the southbound 405 was backed up to Venice Boulevard exit with the morning commute getting underway.
