An investigation is underway Saturday into a shooting by a Pomona Police Department officer of a suspect, who was hospitalized.
According to the police department, officers were called to the 500 block of East Holt Avenue and Paloma Drive at 6:10 p.m. Friday where police shot the suspect.
The suspect was taken to Pomona Valley Hospital by Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics in an unknown condition, police said. A replica firearm was recovered at the scene.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office will be in charge of the investigation of the shooting.
It was unclear what prompted the shooting. No officers were injured, the police department said.
