Three people were injured in a house fire in an Eagle Rock neighborhood Sunday.
Flames in the back of a one-story residence was reported around 4:30 p.m. Sunday in the 5100 block of North Shearin Avenue, south of the Ventura (134) Freeway, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Nearly 100 firefighters battled the flames that engulfed a detached garage and extended into the residence, the LAFD reported. Knockdown was achieved in about 45 minutes.
A man sustained burn injuries and two female residents suffered from minor smoke inhalation, according to the LAFD. The victims were treated at the scene by paramedics and expected to be transported to a local hospital.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
The extent of the damage to the structure was not immediately known.
