Authorities released new information Saturday about a man’s shooting death in Compton on Friday.

The shooting was reported at about 3:45 p.m. Friday at Willow and Rosecrans avenues, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

It was later learned that the man had been shot in the 1200 block of North McDivitt Avenue, where the suspects fled the scene in a vehicle heading northbound on McDivitt Avenue, according to the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.

The victim then ran to Willow and Rosecrans avenues, where he collapsed and was found by deputies. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
