A woman was shot Saturday morning while in her vehicle in Long Beach, authorities said.
Officers dispatched at about 2:50 a.m. Saturday to the area of 23rd Street and Walnut, regarding a shooting victim, contacted the woman, the Long Beach Police Department reported.
The woman told police she was in her vehicle in the 1600 block of 10th Street, where two men attempted to enter her vehicle. She said she was struck by gunfire in the upper body as she attempted to drive away, and fled to the area of 23rd Street and Walnut Avenue, where she called police.
The victim was expected to survive her wounds.
Suspect information and the motive for the shooting were under investigation.
