A man driving a speeding sedan was killed in Palmdale when he lost control of the car and veered into oncoming traffic, crashing head-on into another car, authorities said Saturday.
The crash happened at 11:27 p.m. Friday on Rancho Vista Boulevard near Avenue N-8, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
The preliminary investigation showed a man was speeding in a 2008 Mazda 3, lost control and crashed into an oncoming 2010 Chrysler 300, sheriff’s officials said.
The Mazda driver died at the scene. His name was not released pending notification of relatives. The Chrysler driver was taken to a hospital by ambulance for treatment of his injuries.
Anyone with information about the crash was asked to call traffic investigators at the LASD’s Palmdale station at 661-272-2400.
