A 27-year-old motorcyclist who reportedly was performing a wheelie when he collided with a tree and died in Gardena was identified Tuesday.
At around 5:50 p.m. Sunday, Gardena Police Department officers responded to a single-vehicle collision on Marine Avenue near the Harbor (110) Freeway.
Officers located Sixto Hipolito Nunez on a sidewalk, and paramedics pronounced him dead.
According to the preliminary police investigation, “The motorcyclist lost control while performing a wheelie and struck a tree.”
