A man acting erratically at his workplace in Burbank Wednesday barricaded himself inside the business before being taken into custody, police said.
Officers responded around 11:15 a.m. to the 3400 block of West Magnolia Boulevard after reports of an employee acting erratically, according to the Burbank Police Department.
Officers and the department’s Mental Health Evaluation Team spoke with the man, urging him to come out and get medical help, police said. He was taken into custody without incident at about 1:15 p.m.
He was treated by paramedics for a self-inflicted head injury and was taken to a hospital, police said.
The man will be placed on a psychiatric hold for further evaluation, police said.
