A two-alarm fire that broke out Wednesday north of the Moreno Valley (60) Freeway threatened multiple homes before crews deployed to the location, protecting the structures.
The non-injury blaze was reported at 1:05 p.m. in the area of Webb Street and Ironwood Avenue in Moreno Valley, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
The agency said multiple engine crews and truck companies were sent to the location and encountered flames moving at a slow rate through several yards.
The flames threatened three or four properties between Webb and Kristen Court, as well as an apartment complex north of Hemlock Avenue, according to officials at the scene.
As of 1:45 p.m., firefighters were making progress establishing tentative containment lines.
There were no reports of damage. Webb and Kristen were closed by sheriff’s deputies for public safety.
It was not immediately clear what might have triggered the fire.
