Firefighters dispatched to a rubbish fire in the Sepulveda Basin area Saturday found a separate grass fire nearby and put out both.
The initial call at 4:26 p.m. Saturday was to a rubbish fire at Woodley Avenue and Burbank Boulevard, according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Lyndsey Lantz.
Arriving firefighters reported seeing a separate, quarter-acre grass fire in the area of the Woodley Park Archery Range, Lantz said. It was a slow-moving fire in light fuels and was quickly put out by the first-arriving firefighters.
No injuries were reported.
The cause was not immediately known.
