A motorcyclist was killed Saturday in an apparent solo vehicle crash on the Angeles Crest (2) Highway near the Chilao Visitor Center.
The crash was reported at 12:07 p.m. Saturday on the Angeles Crest Highway near the Devil’s Canyon Trailhead and the Chilao Visitor Center, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A witness told the CHP that the victim was on the right shoulder with a major injury.
The rider was pronounced dead at the scene, the CHP said. He was identified by the Medical Examiner’s office as 28-year-old Alexander Cox. His city of residence was not made known.
The CHP issued a Sigalert about 1:35 p.m. shutting down northbound and southbound lanes at Mile Marker 50 for the crash investigation.
