Firefighters Sunday knocked down a quarter-acre brush fire burning in the Runyon Canyon area of the Hollywood Hills, authorities said.

Firefighters dispatched at 11:47 a.m. Sunday to 3026 Runyon Canyon Road, at Runyon Canyon Park, had the fire out at 12:25 p.m., according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

“Approximately 53 firefighters on the ground fully extinguished all active flames and remain on scene for mop up,” the LAFD’s Lyndsey Lantz said. “Air resources assisted with water drops ahead of the flame front and have now been released from the incident.”
