A 28-year-old motorcyclist was killed Saturday in an apparent solo vehicle crash on Angeles Crest Highway near the Chilao Visitor Center.
The crash was reported at 12:07 p.m. Saturday near the Devil’s Canyon Trailhead, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A witness told the CHP that the victim was on the right shoulder with a major injury.
The rider was pronounced dead at the scene, the CHP said. He was identified by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s office as Alexander Cox. Cox’s city of residence was not immediately made known.
The CHP issued a Sigalert at about 1:35 p.m. shutting down northbound and southbound lanes at Mile Marker 50 for the crash investigation.
