Authorities sought the public’s assistance Monday in locating an at-risk 79-year-old man last seen in the Winnetka area of Los Angeles, prompting the issuance of a Silver Alert.
The California Highway Patrol activated the alert on behalf of the Los Angeles Police Department.
Roberto Umayam was last seen around noon June 29 near Vanowen Street and Winnetka Avenue, according to the CHP.
Umayam was described as a 5-foot-6-inch-tall man weighing 150 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.
It was unclear what he was wearing when he was last seen.
Anyone with information regarding Umayam’s whereabouts was urged to contact 911.
The Silver Alert program was established by the CHP to issue and coordinate alerts involving the unexplained or suspicious disappearances of elderly, developmentally disabled or cognitively impaired individuals.
