Police sought the public’s help Monday in locating a hit-and-run driver who fatally struck a 30-year-old bicyclist in South Los Angeles.

The collision occurred around 10:10 p.m. July 1 when a black Tesla Model X being driven at a high rate of speed heading east on 67th Street from Flower Street crashed into a bicyclist, who was traveling in the same direction, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. The driver continued eastbound toward Broadway without stopping to render aid to the victim, police said.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics took the bicyclist to a hospital, where he later died.

His identity was being withheld pending notification of relatives.

The city is offering a reward of up to $50,000 for information leading to the identity, arrest, and conviction of the suspect.
