A large crowd looted a convenience store in Long Beach after a street takeover Monday morning.
In the latest example of what’s become an almost weekly ritual in the Los Angeles area, a group of motorists blocked the intersection of Orange and Harding around 1 a.m. and while it was happening dozens of people broke into J & G Market at that intersection and took an unknown amount of merchandise, according to several broadcast reports.
The owner of the store told a reporter at the scene they did not know the estimated dollar loss.
Video from the location showed dozens of people making their way into the market.
Police did not respond to requests for additional details.
