A mulch fire that erupted Tuesday near the La Quinta and Thermal border burned two acres before it was stopped.
The non-injury blaze was reported shortly after 3:15 p.m. Tuesday at 59th Avenue and Van Buren Street, and its advance was halted about two hours later, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
The agency said no structures were threatened.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
