A mulch fire that erupted Tuesday near the La Quinta and Thermal area burned approximately two acres with a moderate rate of spread.
The blaze was reported shortly after 3:15 p.m. Tuesday at 59th Avenue and Van Buren Street, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
It was unclear whether any injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
