A suspect was arrested in Indio for allegedly possessing a firearm and multiple narcotics following a traffic stop, police announced Friday.
Officers initiated a traffic stop due to an equipment violation and discovered the driver was operating the vehicle without a valid license, according to the Indio Police Department. It was unclear when the arrest took place.
A subsequent search of the vehicle turned up a 12-gauge shotgun in the front passenger seat, along with 24 grams of methamphetamine, 4.5 grams of fentanyl, 2.4 grams of cocaine and 17 individual baggies each containing 0.1 grams of fentanyl, according to police.
Officers also found scales and packaging materials, police said.
The suspect’s name was not released. The individual was booked into Benoit Detention Center in Indio on suspicion of narcotics violations and weapons-related offenses.
