A 19-year-old man has been arrested in the shooting of a man who remained hospitalized in critical condition Sunday, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department announced.
The shooting was reported around 12:20 a.m. on July 14 in the area of Golden West Avenue and Condor Drive in Jurupa Valley. Responding deputies found a man suffering from a gunshot wound and provided medical aid before paramedics rushed him to a hospital, sheriff’s officials said.
The department’s Homicide Unit assumed the investigation and identified the suspect as Lorenzo Howse Jr. of Bloomington, an unincorporated community in San Bernardino County.
Howse was arrested Friday with assistance from the San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department’s Special Enforcement Division and the Riverside sheriff’s Major Crime Unit after a search warrant was conducted at his residence.
He was booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center, where he was held on no bail on suspicion of attempted murder and robbery, according to the Riverside County inmate database. His first court appearance was scheduled for Tuesday at the Riverside Hall of Justice.
Anyone with additional information about the case was encouraged to contact investigator Deanne at 951-955-2777 or investigator Medina at 951-955-2600.
