Police Wednesday sought the public’s help identifying a driver who fatally struck a 52-year-old man riding a bicycle in North Hollywood earlier this week.

The crash occurred about 10:55 p.m. Monday on Lankershim Boulevard south of Arminta Street, Los Angeles Police Department Officer Charles Miller told City News Service.

A white pickup truck was traveling south on Lankershim when it hit the bicyclist as he attempted to cross the street, Miller said. The driver continued south without stopping to help or report the collision.

Los Angeles Fire Department personnel took the bicyclist — whose name was withheld pending family notification — to a hospital, where he died.

His place of residence was not immediately available.

The LAPD’s Valley Traffic Bureau was handling the investigation. Anyone with information was urged to call detectives at 818-644-8036 or 818-644-8033.
