A 55-year-old motorist was killed in a crash at a Hemet intersection that was under investigation Thursday.
Jason Pickens of Hemet was fatally injured shortly before 11 a.m. Wednesday at North Sanderson and Coronado avenues, according to the Hemet Police Department.
The agency stated that Pickens was driving through the 1100 block of Sanderson when he lost control for reasons unclear, plowing into an electricity pole as he entered the intersection.
Hemet Fire Department paramedics reached the location minutes later and attempted lifesaving measures on the victim, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
No other vehicles were involved.
