A vegetation fire broke out Friday, charring about an acre at a slow rate of spread with heavy fuels near Coachella.
The non-injury blaze was reported shortly before 3 p.m. Friday at Shady Lane and Avenue 54, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
The agency stated multiple additional crews were requested to assist at the scene.
Structures were threatened on the south end of the fire.
The cause of the brusher wasn’t immediately known.
