Firefighters made the grim discovery of a body Saturday when they put out flames that engulfed a recreational vehicle parked in a Valley Glen industrial area.

The firefighters responded at 1:16 p.m. Saturday to 13400 W. Raymer St., northeast of Woodman Avenue and Sherman Way, according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey.

“Though the fire was prevented from extending to businesses or other vehicles parked nearby, the remains of one person were found within the charred remnants of the Class A-style motor home,” Humphrey said.

The age and gender of the person were not immediately available, nor the circumstances leading to the fire and death, he said. No other injuries were reported.
