A woman suffered a severe leg and ankle injury Saturday while hiking in a remote area near the Eagle Rock/Glendale border, authorities said.
Firefighters and paramedics were dispatched at 10:08 a.m. Saturday to the Scholl Canyon Fire Road, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
An LAFD rescue helicopter discovered the woman and lowered a flight paramedic to assess and stabilize her injury.
She was hoisted into the helicopter and directly transported to a hospital.
