A 35-40 year-old pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle in Studio City, police said Monday.

The collision was reported at 10:29 p.m. Sunday and Los Angeles Police Department officers responded to the intersection of Ventura Boulevard and Tujunga Avenue where they found the pedestrian lying in the street, an LAPD officer told City News Service.

Witnesses at the scene told police the driver was traveling west on Ventura when they struck the woman, who was allegedly sitting in the street.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics were called to the scene, where the woman was pronounced dead.

The suspect remained at the scene and cooperated with officers, police said.

The LAPD’s Valley Traffic Division will be in charge of the investigation of the collision.
