A man who pleaded no contest to murdering his 84-year-old father at their home in the high desert community of Littlerock was sentenced Thursday to 15 years to life in state prison.
Jedi Makaka Adrian, now 30, pleaded no contest July 17 to a second-degree murder charge stemming from the Sept. 28, 2016 death of his father, Michael, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.
Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies were sent to the 8800 block of Avenue T-2 “in response to a 911 call from a man stating that his father was dead,” Deputy Guillermina Saldana said shortly after the crime.
Deputies found the victim dead and “discovered signs of a struggle in the home and determined that Jedi Adrian was the suspect in the killing of his father,” Saldana said.
Michael Adrian died of strangulation and blunt force injuries, according to the Los Angeles County medical examiner’s office.
His son — who was 23 at the time — was arrested the same day by sheriff’s deputies and has remained behind bars since then, according to jail records.

Was the kids on drugs. Did he want his father deceased so he could inherit the estate. Their is so much crime against elderly people. Hopefully his jail time, he will find Jesus. Prayers
