Six people were arrested during an eight-hour DUI checkpoint that ended Saturday in Banning.
The checkpoint was held in the 4500 block of West Ramsey Street between 6 p.m. Friday and 2 a.m. Saturday.
Six people were arrested as a result of the checkpoint, the Banning Police Department announced. One person was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, two on suspicion of driving with a suspended license for a prior DUI, two for felony warrants and one was arrested on a misdemeanor warrant, according to the police department.
A total of 816 vehicles were screened during the checkpoint and 25 people were cited for operating a vehicle while unlicensed or with a suspended or revoked license.
Funding for this checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
