At least one person was killed in a multi-vehicle crash that allegedly involved a wrong way driver in the Perris area, authorities said Monday.

The crash was reported to the California Highway Patrol at 11:35 p.m. Sunday on the westbound Ramona Expressway just east of Bernasconi Road.

One involved person told the CHP another vehicles was being driven the wrong way on the road before crashing into her vehicle.

At least one person was pronounced dead at the scene and the coroner’s office was summoned at 12:32 a.m. Monday, the CHP said.

Eastbound and westbound lanes of the Ramona Expressway were shut down at Bernasconi Road for the crash investigation, according to CHP.
