An investigation was continuing Monday into the death of a pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle in Rancho Mirage.
The person was struck shortly before 10:30 p.m. Sunday in the area of Highway 111 and Dunes View Road, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
The individual was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim’s name was withheld pending notification of next of kin. The motorist who struck the person remained at the scene and cooperated with deputies.
“Drugs or alcohol do not appear to be a factor in the collision,” Sgt. Wenndy Brito-Gonzalez said.
No further information was immediately available.
