One suspect was taken into custody, but a second remained on the run Tuesday following a crash at the end of a car chase in the Baldwin Hills area of Los Angeles.

The suspects were possibly involved in a burglary, according to the Los Angeles Police Department, whose officers began chasing the car at about 10:45 a.m. Tuesday in the area of Jefferson Boulevard and La Brea Avenue.

The car raced on city streets, with officers backing off from close pursuit before the vehicle hit a parked car at about 11:10 a.m. in the area of Wall and 98th streets, police said.

The suspects fled on foot and one was quickly apprehended. The other could be seen running up driveways and across yards as police fanned out in the neighborhood.

He remained outstanding as of 1 p.m.
